Students worried about university costs

The whole university sector should worry with the news that around sixty per cent of potential new students are being put off by the rising costs of actually studying for a degree. In a survey of 1,200 students it has been proved that the current system is not working.

It is not so much the fact that at the end of their studies the student is then left with huge loan that at some time will need to be paid off, but also the actual costs of the day to day living that worry many students and it is this that is putting off some students from going to university.

A student will be expected to £3,000 per year for their degree course, but when this is added to living costs the total student debt will be coming out at around £18,000. However a graduate on average can expect to receive a starting salary of around £13,860 per year, which is quite concerning for some people.
