Schools to get holocaust teachers

Every secondary school in the UK will be getting their own Holocaust specialist; they will ensure that this sensitive subject is taught correctly, in depth and in a sensitive manner.

These specialists will already be teaching in the schools and will be offered a place on the government’s new £1.5 million institute of education scheme. Around ten per cent of these teachers will then be able to take this further by taking a master’s degree module in holocaust education.

The funding will come from the Pears Education Trust and the government; this funding will also pay for two sixth formers from every school in the country on a visit to Auschwitz.

Of course, by learning about this subject should show that this happens everywhere and even in recent times too.
