Hack the University’s computer and get 20 years!

Kids who hack into the university or colleges computer systems have for many years been portrayed in TV and films as being young geeky types who are not really cheaters they just do it because it is there to do.

But the authorities take a different view in this behaviour, especially in the US state of California, where two young men have been caught doing exactly just that. But there was no rap on the knuckles for them, oh no, these guys have been charged with unauthorised computer access, identity theft, conspiracy and wire fraud, which in California are very serious offences which carry a $250,000 fine and up to twenty years in jail.

Of course you know who the state governor is?
