Learning photography

Apparently as with any subject, especially a subject that can be regarded as a hobby or as a career there are many changes in the way this is taught and by whom, but in photography this is not the way, the fundamentals are the same as they always have been, the use of light, shade and the subject matter.

But is it so, some experienced photographers go back to teach at the colleges where they learned their craft from, but only to find things have moved on considerably, light and shade have no bearing and as for the subject matter, well the less said about the better.

The next generation of photographers are different to the extreme, they see it as art, rather than just taking pictures, which is the difference and why there are thousands of students studying for degree courses for a job that no longer really exists in the form as it used to.
