School goes carbon neutral

The co-operative society likes to be known as the community retailer and as such they like to invest in good local causes, one such scheme is the Green Energy for Schools project, this is a £1 million scheme which is designed to enable schools to become eco friendly.

The main trust of this project is to provide schools with solar panels; this will automatically reduce the schools oil, gas or electricity usage and thus save energy.

One good point for the children of the schools is the fact that they are able to monitor how much electricity the school is producing, and the carbon that has been saved on a purpose built monitor which will be located at a convenient place.
