Cost of textbooks spirals
As with many things, what happens in the US normally follows over here sooner or later, and as this applies to education and publishing, it will probably be sooner rather than later.
It seems that the price of text books have gone up by a massive 186% since 1986! This has caused all sorts of questions to be asked.
Apparently it has been worked out that a full set of text books for a four year college course will cost around $900 and not much different for a two year course, the price rises are around twice the amount of inflation over the same period.
However a lot of these costs could be cut by using the internet and computers. The text books could be downloaded as a PDF or it may even be possible to read the text online.
